On Wednesday senior Indian Air Force officer Bhumika Singh told a briefing that the strikes targeted nine terrorist camps. The bases were successfully destroyed and the targets were selected based on credible intelligence to avoid damage to infrastructure and loss of lives of civilians.
The Indian military claimed that the bases destroyed were those of terrorists involved in the attack in Pahalgam in Indian-administered Kashmir last month.
Indian media outlet NDTV claimed that the Indian armed forces carried out 24 precise missile strikes on ‘nine terrorist camps’ in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir early on Wednesday. The operation targeted Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed strongholds in Mureed and Bahawalpur.
The Indian Army also claimed that at least 70 terrorists were killed and over 60 others were injured in the attack carried out at 1:44 am on Wednesday, which is a “major setback” to the activities of terrorist organizations.
