Taufiq Ahmed Tafsir, Dhaka,Tuesday May 06, 2025: BNP acting chairperson Tareq Rahman has not returned to the country for nearly one and a half decades of power in Bangladesh.
Four months ago, when BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was on her way to London for treatment, the leaders and activists thought that she would return home with her son Tarek Rahman.
But with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday (May 7th) her two daughters said. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman returned, but Tareq Rahman did not come to the country with his mother. The question of why not coming is wandering in the minds of the politics.
He has not returned to the country so far and there has been various questions in the public – is it just legal complexity or political understanding. However, BNP leaders have dismissed the rest of the issues without legal complications.
BNP leaders

It has to be done through the rule of law. With an order like Sheikh Hasina, you will not cancel all cases. That does not come under the rule of law. Doing this will not have the confidence of the people, the rule of law will not return. Without the rule of law, democracy cannot survive. He will return home after addressing these cases properly, returning soon. ‘
On the other hand, another member of the BNP standing committee, Salauddin Ahmed, hopes, ‘Tareq Rahman will also come to the country soon’.
BNP joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, “Tareq Rahman will come very soon.” We have not yet been able to overcome the complexity of the legal complex. Although Tareq Rahman was released from all the punishment, his sentence remained in a case. The case was discussed by Tarek Rahman, his wife, on September 27, during the ‘One-Eleven’ renowned caretaker government. Zubaida Rahman and mother -in -law Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu were the then Deputy Director of the ACC Zahirul Huda.
